The Chalford Quarter, part II

Cross the road from Halliday’s Mill and you arrive at Victoria Works Studios, previously long-time home to Chalford Chairs. This is a work in progress – there will be painters, an upholsterer, three potters, an illustrator, a couple of art therapists plus a baker (Kim’s Kitchen), and a course room for in-house and external workshops hireable by the hour or day – but the following artisans have already arrived and will be opening their studios during the Select Trail.

Clever Monty, a new business launched by the very talented Kate Montgomery, combines story telling with upcycled vintage furniture to create precious heirloom pieces. (Stories inspired by the furniture are secreted away inside the furniture ready for a curious and creative person to discover.)

Ceramicists Jill Watton and Anna Simson share a studio on the ground floor. Jill makes beautiful hand thrown stoneware and porcelain mugs, bowls and pourers, ( ; while Anna fuses celadon and turquoise glazes to create exquisite teapots, mugs, bowls and vases.
