I spent an hour last week in the company of Nadia Oliver and Natasha Berri, the talented women behind newly launched interior design and project management business Oliver & Berri. (www.oliverberri.com) Sitting in the soon-to-be magnificent surroundings of the Convent Hotel in Woodchester (those mustard coloured walls are a nice touch), we talked about their very on-trend eclectic aesthetic, the importance of good design in hospitals and refuge centres (Nadia did the interiors for the Stroud Maternity unit) and their plans to develop a signature fabric in collaboration with a textile group in Thailand.

Rather than having a static HQ, the duo has decided to hot desk it at the Convent and pop up from time to time at various venues across the five valleys. ‘We’re about creating beautiful spaces,’ explains Nadia. ‘This is a great way of showing what we can do.’

Their second pop up will be appearing in a former coach house at St Leonards Well, Painswick during the Select Festival on 10th/11th & 17th/18th May (www.sitselect.org) The contents of this showcase are still being finalised but there will be pieces from Missoni’s new outdoor collection, work by members of the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen and quite a lot of taxidermy. Everything will be for sale and both Nadia and Natasha will be available for free consultations. Contact them at info@oliverberri.com
