‘’The experience between us and how we view the world is what makes us feel alive. This is what drives me to paint. Within each piece, my aim is to celebrate the cultural and natural heritage of a place. I decide on an animal or object that is woven into the heritage of an area to represent the location I have chosen. I want to highlight the ‘living history’ that still inhabits our ancient landscapes and consider the important role that these animals and locations play in the biodiversity of our environment. Our personal connection to a place creates unique perspectives and celebrates our personal identity to it and the cultural heritage within it, both of which are crucial ingredients in protecting our world for generations to come’’
So pop into Hobbs, grab a bite to eat and enjoy Gemma’s lovely work. You will not be disappointed. All work is for sale.
